Ladies, this is what you are looking – a cigar evening that is curated especially for you!
Our regular cigar evenings go from strength to strength and our ladies only evenings are now starting to gain a bit of a following too!
We are offering two options for the evening – a one cigar option if you have not been to a cigar tasting before and are curious about what happens, and a two cigar option for those of you who want the full experience.
Both of the cigars will be from the New World (and more than likely Nicaragua) – we have yet to fully decide on what to put on, but we will announce our choices within the first week of August.
We will be joined by the bubbly Helen Groome of TOR Imports for this event – Helen has been in the cigar industry for around a decade and is a joy to chat to about cigars (and horses!).
The evening will be held at one of Nottingham’s top cocktail bars, Loose Ends, on Friar Lane, Nottingham, starting at 7pm.

When it comes to pipe tobacco producers, there are possibly none as interesting as Cornell & Diehl who are based in Loris, South Carolina in the US.
Cornell & Diehl have been creating eigmatic blends for almost 40 years and are one of the most revered tobacco manufacturers in the US alongside the likes of G L Pease (who get their blends manufactured by Cornell & Diehl!). Gauntleys was the first UK retailer to import them around 15 years ago, however, at the time, spiraling import costs, and a ton of new Government regulation made the process overly complex and expensive.
In the last year or so, a new UK importer has brought them back to UK, and we are delighted to welcome them back with open arms. As an introduction to their range we have chosen one of their stunning blends as our Pipe Tobacco Of The Week.
Cornell & Diehl Black Frigate is a stunning blend comprising of Latakia, Cavendish (which has been laced with Rum) and selected Turkish tobaccos. This is a complex smoke that really does deliver a full, expressive palate, yet is only medium bodied in it’s intensity. This is very much a ‘Navy’ Crumble Cake so it will need rubbed down, but that only adds to the charm as you slowly release all those gorgeous aromas and flavours. For one week only, you can get the Black Frigate for a mere £11.80 for 25g.
